#kasalngthehabybys

She’s bubbly and sweet. He’s quiet and soft-spoken. Two individuals who, on the outside, are totally opposite and yet once you know them, you’ll finally understand that they are truly meant for each other.

Johann and Mylene’s love story is one of those you could say, “have taken their sweet time” and indeed, they have. Their relationship started out as teammates in a mission trip in Malay, Aklan wherein Johann was an “unexpected” addition to the group. He was quiet and preferred to be a follower than a leader in the group. Expectedly, Mylene’s outgoing personality became more of the reason why they became friends and gotten close since then.

And so, one thing led to another – from teammates, to friends, and finally as habybys (that’s what they call each other). Years passed, these two have nurtured their relationship from being long distance partners until both were able to settle in Singapore for work and finally, through a movie date, with the ring at the bottom of the popcorn, Johann proposed to Mylene with a predictable answer of “Yes” from her, the two finally set the date for their special day – October 26, 2013.

Family and friends flew in from Olongapo, Manila, Tacloban, Zamboanga and even Singapore to witness the day that Johann and Mylene vowed to love and cherish each other. It was a day filled with smiles and laughter. It was only not delightful but miraculous, considering that the rest of Cebu City and parts of Mactan, Cebu was drenched with strong rains, but the sky was clear at Vistamar Beach Resort and Hotel where the ceremony and reception dinner was held. Indeed, it was a night of fun and the song from Owl City that the couple danced with their guests  was truly fit for the occassion:

“…It’s gonna be alright
We don’t even have to try
It’s always a good time”.
